RMBI Festival

Tuesday, August 9th, 2011

The RMBI Festival was concluded with a celebration at Royal Ascot Racecourse on Friday 3rd June 2011 with a reception on the lawn adjacent to The Pavilion. While enjoying a pre-dinner drink our Festival President RW.Bro. J. Michael Hooton accompanying our special guest RW.Bro. David Kenneth Williamson, Assistant Grand Master, moved among us for a chat prior to dinner.

On being called to The Pavilion 520 members and guests enjoyed a four course dinner with wine. After the loyal toasts W.Bro. John Nixon, Chairman of the Appeal Committee, proposed the toast to the RMBI with an overview of the results of the Festival. The Province had achieved a remarkable total of £2,276,000.50 equating to a figure in excess of £600 per capita which was a record. He thanked us all for our support with reference to the members of the committee and in particular Roy D’Archambaud who was, sadly, unable to be present. The toast to the President was given by RW.Bro. David Williamson, AGM, complementing RW.Bro. Michael Hooton on his achievement.

As you will remember we achieved our Bronze award of £12,000 in September 2006, the Silver target of £18,000 in December 2007 and our Gold target of £24,000 in March 2008. Our final total was £27,588.53. Your Charity Stewards for the Festival thank you for your support during the Festival. Well done.
